What I Got For Christmas…Because Maybe You’d Want To Know
So, I haven’t posted in a while, because it’s Christmas, duh, but I finally finished getting my Christmas gifts yesterday, and I thought I’d put down the many CDs I received, because my family and loved ones know me oh-so-well, and know it’s a failsafe gift. Here are the gifts I got that you may want to check out as well….

- Across The Universe Deluxe Edition: Really, if you haven’t seen this movie already, you totally need to. If you’re going to by the soundtrack, the only way to go is to get the Deluxe Edition. It’s only a few dollars more, and you get twice the songs, and they’re all songs you’re going to want, believe you me. This is the CD to get this year, this and the Sweeney Todd soundtrack…oh, and the August Rush soundtrack too. So, basically, this is one of the top three soundtracks to purchase this year. The music is amazing whether or not you like The Beatles, the story is extremely strong, and the entire movie is so aesthetically pleasing, I can’t believe it. Put this on your after-Christmas sale shopping list. Put that re-gifting returning money to good use.

- Rufus Does Judy At Carnegie Hall: One word: fabulous. Rufus Wainwright reproduces to a T Judy Garland’s 1961 concert at Carnegie Hall, and it’s an insane amount of fun. Some of the classics include “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” “You Made Me Love You,” and “That’s Entertainment.” He told a lot of stories, had his mom and sister as some featured guests, and sang with as much feeling as Judy would have. It’s an awesome tribute. If you like Rufus Wainwright, your collection needs to include this CD.

- A John Waters Christmas: I’ll admit it. I’m not the hugest fan of Christmas music. I find a lot of it too cheesy and it just really bothers me how people play it after Halloween is over. That is mega lame. However, I have found the Christmas antidote. A John Waters Christmas has made me feel a lot better. I’ll just tell you that Tiny Tim is on this CD. That should explain a lot for you, if you’ve heard his “Tiptoe Through the Tulips” song. True Quality.

- A Wild and Crazy Guy - Steve Martin: I listened to this CD every day. Every day. Since I was like 7 years old. Sure, it’s highly inappropriate. Sure, my parents probably shouldn’t have let me, but in retrospect, I’m glad they did. He is now my complete and total hero, and this CD is hilarious. My boyfriend bought it for me, which got him massive brownie points. He also bought me the next item on my list, equally choice in nature.

- These are Jokes - Demetri Martin: This. CD. Rocks. Pretty sure my boyfriend and I quote Demetri Martin every single day. Right after he gave this to me, we watched the accompanying DVD. It was totally great. I love every second of his comedy. Good deal. Buy this. Laugh your ass off. Pardon my French.
