Trivia Tuesday: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Alright, so I couldn’t dig up a lot of trivia. I’m very sorry. Here’s what I got!
- For their third CD, the Long Island DIY collective Bomb the Music Industry! Goodbye Cruel World! had the working title be “Clap Your Hands Say Shut the F*** Up.” BTMI frontman, Jeff Rosenstock, explained the reason for the change as such: “A band selling 50,000 records without a label, regardless of hype or bad music, is kinda dope.” Indeed, Jeff Rosenstock, indeed.
- Robbie Guertin, who plays guitar, keyboard, and backup vocals for CYHSY, submitted a t-shirt design for The Yellow Bird Project so the band could be part of helping raise money for Art For A Change.
- If you’re in Australia, and you like McDonald’s, TV, or possibly both, you may remember hearing “Sunshine and Clouds (And Everything Proud) as background to one of the commercials of the fast food superpower.
- If you like Ounsworth, just can’t get enough of him, check out his solo project, Flashy Python and the Body Snatchers. I swear, these guys have such a knack for great names.
- Indie rock supergroup in the future? Well, I don’t have a crystal ball, but this is the rumor for what Ounsworth has planned. Only time will tell.
