Trivia Tuesday: Amy Winehouse
Really, this section should be called “Awards Tuesday,” since most of the information I got was about awards Winehouse has received, but whatever, awards are trivia, so deal. Yeah.

- Amy was placed #1 on Spinner.com’s “Women Who Rock Right Now.” Yeah? Well, what happens after right now? Only time will tell…
- Winehouse won an Ivor Novello award in 2004 and 2007, both for Best Contemporary Song. Look up “Stronger Than Me” and “Rehab” to see if you agree.
- The South Bank Show Awards, ever hear of them? Me neither, but apparently she won the award for Best Pop, so yay!!
- The BRIT awards had Winehouse nominated four times and won once for Best Female Solo Artist
- In 2007, the Elle Style Awards, well, awarded her with Best British Music Act. I’m not sure how style and music connect, but I mean, Amy Winehouse is pretty stylin’, so I guess that could happen, maybe, I’m not sure.
- Greatest Britons also gave Amy an award in 2007 for Musical Achievement. They are the greatest, apparently, so huge honor, yeah?
- Winehouse’s music has been covered by several artists already. “Rehab” has been covered by Girls Aloud, Paolo Nutini, and Justin Timberlake. Arctic Monkeys, a personal favorite band of mine, has covered “You Know I’m No Good,” and Prince covered “Love is a Losing Game.” Some pretty big creds for a relatively new artist.
Yes, all the trivia you can stuff into a trophy. I’m not sure if that made sense. Regardless, stick around for discography tomorrow!
