New Artist Monday: Goodnight Wednesday
I know, I know, the days of the week in the title alone are confusing you. Never to fear, dear reader, the band is named Goodnight Wednesday (Monday is not involved), and today is the start of the week where you’re gonna learn all about them. So, read on, tell your friends, and get excited for the most epic interview I’ve ever conducted….so epic that I’m trying to figure out how to post its lengthy glory still. In the meanwhile, enjoy these stats! Yay, stats!
- Name of Band: Goodnight Wednesday
- Sound: “Our songs are a little too punk.” This may be something I agree with, but only because Goodnight Wednesday is a Christian band. They told me that this is what they were told when they had the opportunity to get signed by a label. Their music was good, but a little too punk, a little too hard, so they were a risk in the Christian music industry. If you ask me, I think that Christian music needs sounds pulling from all different genres in order to keep it from getting pigeonholed and associated with only one sound or one type of band. Goodnight Wednesday has tried something different, and in my opinion, it’s working. It’s harder rock, the new punk sound, something that teens are listening to anyway, so if you can add a message to it, you’ve found a great audience.
